The First Lady of Georgia Maka Chichua visited Bolnisi municipality’s educational- rehabilitation center for children with disabilities. While there she also received information about Bolnisi’s Municipally run Women’s Room, a service providing consultation and linkages to resources for local rural inhabitants. The First Lady was hosted by the Governor of Kvemo Kartli Grigol Nemsadze and the Gamgebeli of Bolnisi Municipality Davit Sherazadishvili. “We are here to stress the importance of cooperation between civil sector and local government to support and help parents, especially mothers, who have children with different, special needs. I’m happy to hear that Bolnisi municipality has already done much for these people and also very interested in the municipal service Women’s Room which can become an important source of support for families who need more information and knowledge of sources of help and linkages,” – said Maka Chichua. She also expressed interest in supporting the spread of the Women’s Rooms in the future.
The First Lady was not unfamiliar with the Women’s Room service having visited Khelvachauri municipality Women’s Room two weeks ago with the First Lady of Adjara.
