Agricultural Shorts Take Off

Over the last 18 months, programme client Agricultural video producer Mosavali has been developing technical video lessons on key aspects of livestock husbandry and beekeeping.  The videos pitched at reaching farmers through social media and no longer than 3 minutes viewing time have taken off.  9 livestock and 7 beekeeping videos have been produced and uploaded to networks. The simplicity of the videos lends to their appeal, key messages are packaged in language and in a style accessible for rural farmers. It has been positively received; sparking comments, debates and self-shot videos from farmers and entrepreneurs across Georgia. One video on Place Selection for Apiary had 40000 hits on facebook in the week after release with the next on bee nutrition getting 37000 views. Mosavali also works with one of the most popular information websites www.gurianews.com and marketing website kar.ge to disseminate the videos and reach wider audiences. The Videos are being used as an example of good reporting by the Georgian Regional Media Associations of newspapers and broadcasters who have distributed the video lessons among their members in turn helping the local media in serving rural market.
