Jara Honey Goes Global
In February 2026, Georgian Wild Jara honey has been successfully exported to Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates by Tfeli Ltd, preceded by the export to the United Kingdom in November 2025. Tfeli partners with the Jara Beekeepers Association (JBA) and these exports mark a significant step in international market expansion. The shipments introduce Jara honey to new consumers in three dynamic and high-value markets.
These exports represent a major diversification of markets for the JBA. Up until 2025, Japan was the association’s sole export destination. This expansion into new regions strengthens the resilience of the association and reduces reliance on a single market, whilst further elevating the international profile of Georgia’s flagship wild honey.
The continued development of export to high value markets reflects the growing recognition of Jara honey’s unique quality and heritage and underscores ongoing efforts to meet international standards and access premium global markets.
The JBA is facilitated by the Alliances Caucasus 2 (ALCP2) programme, co-funded by the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC), the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and Sweden.
