Georgian Honey Stars in London

The ALCP2 has been facilitating the attendance of Georgian Honey Companies at the London Honey awards for the past four year.  This year at the 2024 London International Honey Awards saw Georgian honey producers excel in competition with honey from 256 honeys from 34 countries. Competing for awards for quality, packaging and image. Georgian producers came away with three  Platinum, three Gold awards and a silver in the quality category and two golds and two  silver awards in the highly competitive packaging total image and label categories.

Acacia honey/ApiGeo, Acacia honey/Rukhi Queen, Ninostminda Honey/Cooperative Kody were awarded with Platinum Quality Awards, while Polyfloral honey/Royal Honey, and Alpine Honey/Ska, Alpine Honey/Lamaria, Chestnut honey/Lamaria received Gold Quality Awards.  Gold and Silver Awards for Packaging went to  the Triple Portion Honey with Wooden Box/Taplikatsi and Georgian Wild Jara honey presented by Japanese importer company MYM International Co. Ltd, who also won silver  in the quality category.

The London International Honey Awards, established in 2014, has quickly become a prestigious competition that recognizes excellence in global honey production. The participation of the companies was supported by the Georgian Beekeepers Union (GBU) working with the Embassy of Georgia to the UK. The programme continues to support the GBU and its member honey producing companies to diversify production, meet international quality standards and expand export markets.

The ALCP2 implemented by Mercy Corps Georgia, is funded by the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) in cooperation with the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and Sweden.
