Equipping Future Journalists for Climate Change
The Journalism Resource Center (JRC) has developed a new module focused on climate-smart communication and reporting in agriculture, shaped by representatives from 15 universities across Georgia, some of whom will integrate the module into their existing programmes, while others will offer it as a separate module within their journalism departments.
Additionally, a network of university representatives specializing in climate-smart communication has been established. These trainers will begin sharing their expertise with students in the spring of next year.
This new module builds on the successful experience of the JRC's Agri Journalism module, which has been effectively incorporated into university curricula for several years.
The ALCP2 is supporting the Journalism Resource Center as part of the SDC’s regional initiative, aimed at enhancing media content for rural producers reliant on agriculture and natural resources in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in the context of climate change.
